started doing this split and honestly my body thanks me

Three weeks into this and I'm actually noticing a difference so I figured I'd share. Basically I got fed up of yoga-only weeks where I felt bendy but kind of weak, and gym-only weeks where everything hurt and I couldn't touch my toes. So I just... merged them. Very unscientifically lol. What I'm doing now: Monday — strength focus. Bodyweight mostly. Push-ups, squats, resistance band rows. Nothing mad, like 35-40 mins Tuesday — longer yoga flow. Yin or vinyasa depending on how Monday went Thursday — strength again but lower body heavy. Glute bridges, single-leg deadlifts, lateral band walks (these are horrendous btw) Friday or Saturday — flexibility and breathwork. Sometimes just 20 mins if the week's been a lot Wednesday and Sunday are rest or a walk with Chai. The thing I've noticed — and I'm not saying this fixes everything — is that the strength sessions actually feel easier when I'm keeping up with the flexibility work. My hips don't seize up mid-squat anymore which was genuinely embarrassing. Also started having a proper snack with some protein before the strength days rather than training fasted like I used to. That changed things more than I expected. It's not a perfect programme or anything. Some weeks Thursday doesn't happen. But having a rough structure that mixes both has been proper good for me.

do you find the yin or vinyasa choice makes a big difference to how you feel Thursday?

the bodyweight stuff on monday — do you find that enough or do you add weight over time?

doing something similar with climbing days and yoga in between, the recovery difference is actually mad
