the water thing is real and I kept ignoring it

Honestly I used to roll my eyes a bit when people went on about drinking water for your skin. Like yeah yeah, I work by the sea, wind in my face all day, SPF on repeat — I figured I had the outer stuff covered. But this summer has been properly relentless and I've noticed on the days I'm rushed at the hotel and barely touch my bottle, by the afternoon my skin just looks flat. Not dry exactly, more like... dull? Like someone turned the brightness down. And no amount of SPF or serum fixes that mid-shift, mind you. I've started keeping a big glass of water at the desk and mixing my collagen in the mornings before I leave the house and tbh the difference on the days I actually do it vs the days I forget is harder to ignore now. I'm not saying it's magic or anything, it just seems like all the other stuff works better when I'm actually hydrated. The coastal air takes it out of you more than people realise.

I noticed the same thing when I was revising for my exams last month, barely left the house and still looked washed out by evening
