took me way too long to stop ignoring this

Creatine timing sorted, training block going well, and I still managed to bonk on a 14k yesterday because I ate basically nothing before heading out. Aye it was brutal. I know what works for me at this point — banana and a bit of oat something, around 45 mins out. But I'd just run out of bananas and thought "ach it's fine." It was not fine. Pace fell off a cliff around 10k and I was just grinding through the last stretch feeling a bit grim. Honestly the pre-run food thing is the one area where I keep getting complacent. Like I've got the long run nutrition dialled in, I know my gels, I track my splits obsessively — but the basic "what did you actually eat this morning" question catches me out more than I'd like to admit.

had this exact thing last week but with a long pad session, skipped the pre-training snack and completely fell apart in the last round. your body just doesn't lie does it

stupid question but what's the oat something you go for — like oat cakes or actual porridge?

the 'ach it's fine' moment gets me every time and it is never fine 😂

10k is exactly where it catches you every time

14k on nothing sounds grim 😬
