training in the heat is a whole different thing tbh

Honestly didn't expect summer to hit this hard at the gym. Like I know it's warmer but I did my usual session on Monday and felt absolutely wiped halfway through in a way I normally don't. Had to drop the weight on my squats which was a bit deflating ngl. I've been drinking more water obviously but I think I need to actually rethink the timing of when I go? I used to go around 1pm but that's probably not helping. Thinking about shifting to early morning before uni or later in the evening when it cools down a bit. Stupid question but does your body genuinely perform worse in the heat or am I just being soft about it — because it felt like I was working twice as hard for half the results. I actually managed to push through and finish which I'm calling a win, but I came home and just lay on my floor for a good ten minutes lol

electrolytes matter more than plain water in the heat — worth adding something like a pinch of salt or an electrolyte tab if you're sweating a lot more than usual

1pm is brutal, honestly. I moved my yoga to like 7am over summer and it made such a difference — dropping the weight or cutting the session short isn't weakness, it's just heat, your body's working harder than normal just existing in it

7am gang honestly, never going back

7am surf sessions in summer are a different level, same logic applies tbh

morning sessions help but I still find padel in summer just drains me way more than I expect — started taking creatine before which I thought might make it worse but honestly hasn't noticed much difference either way
