overnight oats but actually decent macros

Right so I kept seeing overnight oats everywhere and honestly I always thought it was just a thing people made to look good on their camera. Tried it properly this week though and I'm actually converted. Basically — 60g oats, one scoop vanilla whey mixed into the milk before you add anything else (this is the bit that matters, don't just dump it on top), then a tablespoon of Greek yogurt, chia seeds if you've got them. Leave it overnight, done. In the morning I just chucked some banana on and that was it. Comes out to about 40g protein which is pure class for something that took me three minutes before bed. Tastes dead good too, like a proper pudding almost. It's become the thing I make when I know I've got a heavy morning at the gym and can't be standing cooking eggs at 6am.

I eat something similar before long rides, oats sit well without making you feel heavy. The protein from the whey helps too — I used to go out fasted and it was just worse for anything over 2 hours.

same with running, anything over 90 mins fasted and my pace just falls apart — oats the night before made a genuine difference to my longer splits
