skin is doing something weird this week
Honestly my face cannot make up its mind. The dry patches from winter are finally easing off but now I've got this weird combo thing going on — oily down the middle, still a bit tight around my cheeks. Classic spring chaos tbh.
I swapped my heavier cream for something lighter a few weeks back and I think that's helping, mind you I also started drinking more water again so who knows which one it actually is. Probably both. Probably neither.
The one thing I do know from a nutrition side — and I say this as someone who sees clients for this stuff — is that what you're eating genuinely shows. Omega-3s, zinc, vitamin C... they all matter for skin barrier function, especially when the seasons shift and your skin's basically recalibrating. It's not dramatic, it's just slow and boring and it works.
I've been adding more oily fish this week. Mackerel on sourdough for lunch, dead simple. And I notice when I skip it for a few days, my skin looks a bit more dull. Could be correlation, could be causation — I'm not going to pretend I've run a clinical trial on myself.
Anyway. Spring skin is a process, not a fix.
