summer skin is genuinely a whole thing

Right so I've had coeliac long enough now to know that anything inflammation-related just hits different for me than it seems to for other people. And summer skin is one of those things nobody really warned me about. Basically from about June onwards my face gets this weird combination of oily and somehow still tight? Like I'll put moisturiser on in the morning and by lunchtime at school I look like I've run a 5k. I've tried loads of lighter formulas over the last couple of years and honestly the thing that's helped most is just — less. Less product. I stripped my routine right back over July and my skin actually calmed down. SPF, a really light gel moisturiser, done. I do still add collagen into my morning drink most days, whether that does anything for my skin specifically I genuinely couldn't tell you but I feel like it helps and that's enough for me tbh. The other thing — and I know this sounds obvious — is drinking more water than you think you need. I'm terrible at it during term time, I forget completely, but in the heat it really does show on my face if I've been slack about it. Puffy under the eyes, a bit dull. Mind you I also got a bit sunburned last weekend because I trusted SPF 30 for a whole afternoon outside which was optimistic of me to say the least.

not coeliac myself but I notice my skin goes properly weird in summer too, especially when training hard — always assumed it was just sweat but apparently internal hydration actually shows up on your face. drinking more water during WODs helped me more than any product tbh
